Writer's Craft Reflection
6 months. That's all it took. 24 weeks for me to fall even more in love with writing.
It's always been my neech but never did I expect for there to be so many rules behind it. I can definetely say that I've learnt a lot over the past few months. Not only from Mr. Heneke but from the websites we've visited, the books we've analyzed and the speeches, poems and many more sources that we've studied. When I think of writing, my mind goes straight to the idea of a pen and paper (hence the title of my blog) but now nearing the end of this class I realize how much more there is to it.
From punctuation rules to sentence structures and righting actively, not passively I can certainly say I've learnt a lot. I intend on using all of my gained knowledge for future writing in University as well as recreationally. As much as I enjoyed Writer's Craft I cannot say I always enjoyed it. The class became quite difficult at times and receiving editing feedback and criticism was not always pleasant. Despite the rough patches, I believe that ultimately my writing has improved and developped it's own style. Of all assignments we've completed throughout this semester I particularly enjoyed the Memoirs as well as the speeches. These assignments allowed me to excel in what I enjoy most; writing on personal subjects and performing in front of an audience.
Thank you Mr.Heneke for passing on your knwledge of the craft!
